___________ Miserable Self Propagating Team Biographies (but it's worth the read) Matt Korba- Lead Designer, Lead Artist and Programmer Matt Korba came to USC's Interactive Media program by way of Cal State Long Beach where he received his bachelors in film production and media studies. A life long gamer and movie buff, Matt has always been passionate about combining his love of both mediums into one cohesive project. The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is a culmination of his adoration of silent film, admiration for macabre artists like Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, and an obsession with old school platformers. He has worked on several game projects for the USC Interactive Media program including an economic simulator for the L.A. Times and an MMO entitled Good Night Elysium. An artist by nature he taught himself to code in Flash this summer to demonstrate that the time mechanics in Winterbottom could be achieved.
Paul Bellezza - Producer and Designer A former high school biology teacher with a bachelors in Psychology from The University of California - Berkley. Paul has been a gamer since a young age growing up on classics like Ghosts n Goblins, Dragon Warrior, and Super Mario Bros 3. After teaching for a while Paul decided to switch careers into the field of games. He scratched his way into USC's Interactive Media Program after stints in game retail and testing with the aspirations to become a game designer. Paul joined the Winterbottom team as a producer shortly after its conception by long time collaborator and classmate Matt. Along with his excel skills, Paul works to keep the Winterbottom team fed, on task, and on track with its creative vision.
Jamie Antonisse- Designer Since he was a young boy, Jamie Antonisse has nurtured a profound love of Legos, Super Mario 3, and temporal paradoxes. His passion has found a natural outlet in his work on P.B. Winterbottom. A writer, filmmaker and game designer with a Bachelors degree in Math and Religion, Jamie moved from his native East Coast to California in 2006 to join the USC Masters Program in Interactive Media. When he's not charting out mind-bending new levels and narrative for our pie-loving hero, he's either working at USC Institute for Creative Technologies, mapping out his own thesis project, or asleep and dreaming.
Dan Howard is a senior at USC studying Interactive Media. Though generally calm and laid-back, he likes to take out his aggression by pwning noobs over Xbox live, usually via shotgun blast to the face. His favorite games include the Halo series, F.E.A.R., and the Legend of Zelda series. He does not own an actual shotgun. Phillip Gregorchuk -Designer Phillip Gregorchuk is an undergraduate student at USC's Marshall School of Business. He met up with Matt and Paul in the summer of 2007 after infiltrating USC's Interactive Media school. Phillip was part of the team that made the epic B-Game title Wraith of Tranpeoritorrrr. Phillip splits his time between business work and his passion for game design…but the later half usually wins. He frequently references Lion King (snes) and other semi obscure games during the course of team brainstorms. The games that most influence his designs are Everquest (Original through Velious), Mario 3, Line Rider, Super Ghosts and Ghouls, DoTA, and Monkey Island. Matthew Barney is currently a 5th year senior at the University of
Southern California. Originally an Aerospace Engineering-Astronautics
major, Matthew quickly realized that he wasn't particularly interested
in developing cell phone satellites or programming in Fortran. A quick
major change, a few years and a handful of elective courses later Ian Dallas- Designer/Engineer Ian Dallas is a grad student in USC's Interactive Media program and a thoroughly reasonable man. He's primarily interested in surreal environments and creating moments of awe, fear and wonder. Before coming to USC he was a designer at Telltale Games where he worked on the Sam & Max series. He's also written for TV (Drawn Together, Spaceballs: The Animated Series) and the Onion. You can find his blog at iandallas.com.
Tim Jones- Engineer (Sweet bio coming soon. You'll get the scoop on Tim...just you wait.)
Asher Vollmer- Engineer, Designer Asher Vollmer quietly binged on single-player video games in the privacy of his own room during the first decade of his life. Only recently has he branched out into making his own, with a special emphasis on interesting mechanics. His greatest creations include: Guy with a Balloon, Little Fish Things that Can Evolve, Gravity-Resisting Spacejumpermajigger, and, most recently, P.B. Winterbottom is Unstuck in Time. He is currently attending Milken Community High School, but that will change soon. Katie Johnson is an undergraduate in the Interactive Entertainment program. She is also minoring in Japanese. In the past, she has enjoyed being a video game production intern and a game tester. In her spare time, Katie can be found playing games, writing about games in her blog, cooking, traveling, or reading an occasional graphic novel.
David Stanton- Composer Philosophy major turned Composer, David Stanton recently graduated from USC's Scoring For Motion Picture and Television program. Looking to marry the three loves of his life: dialectics, music, and video games, David is sprucing up his demo and practicing Wii Tennis in the interim. David is committed to finding the frontier of music in gaming and very much looking forward to the next WoW expansion because he's tired of his priest. |
